Bill began his professional journey by passing the Uniform CPA Examination in 1970, equipping him with a solid foundation in financial and tax matters. His legal career launched shortly thereafter, as he clerked for Judge Carlisle B. Roberts of the Oregon Tax Court from 1971 to 1972. This formative experience sharpened Bill’s skills in tax law and litigation, areas that have remained pivotal throughout his career.
From 1976 to 1979, Bill served as in-house counsel for Pacific Northwest Bell, gaining invaluable experience managing corporate legal matters. This role deepened his understanding of the challenges faced by businesses and informed his ability to provide practical, results-driven advice to clients.
